There is no safe single HS code that can be guaranteed for every calcium lignosulfonate shipment worldwide. Classification can depend on composition, degree of processing, intended use, national tariff subdivisions and the customs authority’s interpretation.

How to Confirm the Classification

  1. Identify the exact grade, physical form, composition and intended use.
  2. Provide the product description, TDS, SDS and COA to the importer or customs broker.
  3. Check the current tariff schedule and national subheading in the destination country.
  4. Where commercial risk is material, request a binding tariff ruling from the competent authority.

Why Online Codes Can Conflict

Six-digit HS headings are internationally harmonized, while additional digits and classification practice vary by market and can change. A code used on a previous shipment is useful evidence, but it is not automatically correct for another grade, use or destination.
