Concrete Admixture for Industrial Buildings

Jumbo bags of lignosulfonate loaded into a container

Concrete admixtures for industrial buildings must be selected from the required workability, setting, strength, durability and placement conditions—not from a single product label. SNF/PNS, PCE and lignosulfonate technologies offer different performance profiles.

Project Requirements

  • Slump and slump-retention target.
  • Early and later-age strength.
  • Floor flatness, finishing window and bleeding control.
  • Temperature, transport time and placement method.
  • Cement, supplementary materials and other admixtures.

Recommended Trial

Test several active-solids dosages with the actual project materials. Measure slump, air, bleeding, setting, segregation, finishability, strength and shrinkage. No fixed water reduction or dosage applies to every industrial floor or structural mix.

Industrial-Building Trial Plan

Use the project’s cement, supplementary materials, aggregates and jobsite water. Compare control and candidate mixes for initial slump, retention, pumpability, segregation, air, setting, early stripping strength and later strength. Repeat at expected summer and winter temperatures before fixing the field dosage.

SNF Powder Supply Reference
