A magnesium lignosulfonate technical data sheet is useful only when its product code, revision, test basis and supplier status match the material being offered. LigninCorp’s public archive contains an older GAC-MgLS PDF created in November 2016. It is retained for document traceability, but it must not be treated as the current specification for a new order.

Reviewing a Current TDS
- Match the product code on the quotation, sample label, TDS, SDS and COA.
- Record the document title, revision/date and issuing entity.
- Separate specification limits from typical properties and application results.
- Check units, sample preparation, dry/as-supplied basis and test methods.
- Resolve apparent conflicts such as dry matter versus moisture or magnesium versus combined magnesium-and-calcium.
- Agree which parameters are release tests and which are informational only.
- Compare representative batches before approving routine supply.
Dosage and Performance Data
The archived PDF listed 0.2–0.3% based on cement. It did not define whether the percentage was as-supplied product or dry solids, identify the cement system or test method, or provide a current document revision. The value therefore remains an unverified historical dosage statement and is not presented as a current recommendation.
A valid supplier-recommended starting trial range must name the exact grade and current source document, define the basis (normally including total cementitious material and as-supplied versus dry solids), and be tested with the actual cement, SCMs, aggregates, water, temperature, mixing and other admixtures. Water reduction, setting, air, slump retention and strength are measured results—not guaranteed consequences of dosage.
Application Qualification
Depending on exact grade and testing, magnesium lignosulfonate may be screened in concrete/cement, ceramics and refractories, mineral or powder binding, dust control and selected aqueous dispersion systems. Do not infer universal suitability from the application list. Define the control, preparation method, trial matrix, acceptance endpoints and scale-up conditions for each system.
